Chapter 26 : Mark

Accidentally Choosing the Strongest Alpha in the Galaxy on a Blind Date

After getting Ji Anli’s consent, Lin Jing immediately contacted President An. He’s briefly mentioning the heat disorder and attaching the address of the marital home.

He then hurried back ahead of time.

As soon as he opened the villa’s door, he precisely spotted Ji Anli sitting on the sofa. He walked over with large strides to him.

Lin Jing stood in front of Ji Anli, relieved to see that he looked much better than he did in the video.

On the way back, he had been worried that Ji Anli was just saying he was fine to reassure him.

Now, seeing him, he finally felt the weight lifted off his shoulders.

Ji Anli had expected Lin Jing to return quickly but not this quickly.

He had gone to the suburban villa to treat Ander which should have taken at least an hour to get here yet it had only been twenty minutes.

Ji Anli wanted to ask if his hovercar was okay.

Would it start smoking and break down soon?

But then he remembered that Lin Jing was worried about him which was why he was in such a hurry.

His feelings were complicated yet warm.

He really hadn’t chosen wrong. General Lin, with the fluffiest fur of a snow wolf, was truly a good person.

Lin Jing sat down next to Ji Anli.

“You just evolved into a Healer not long ago. The last time you had an episode, it should have been over. Why are you having a heat period again so soon?”

He deduced this from what Ji Anli had said before.

Since Ji Anli knew that his heat would be accompanied by his hidden illness getting out of control, he must have had a heat period before.

Calculating the time, it had been just a few days ago which was completely different from the previous mention of a monthly heat period.

So he was worried that Ji Anli might have a heat disorder.

Ji Anli’s response confirmed Lin Jing’s suspicion, “It should be a disorder. I just thought about it myself. Having a heat period twice in such a short time isn’t normal.

It might be because my body which used to have weaker mental strength than the average Omega, suddenly evolved into such a strong Healer.

It’s probably a short-term adaptation issue causing side effects.”

He paused and added softly, “I originally thought it was just a hidden illness getting out of control. I didn’t expect there to be another issue. I really didn’t mean to hide it.”

Lin Jing naturally believed him.

“I know, you’re not that kind of person.”

Ji Anli touched his nose, feeling a bit guilty.

No, you don’t know me at all.

I really am that kind of person.

But he truly didn’t know about the heat disorder beforehand.

Otherwise, he would have been prepared and wouldn’t have said those words that sounded more like a good person card.

Lin Jing noticed the scattered inhibitors nearby.

“Didn’t you use these?” He had heard that inhibitors were generally used during heat periods so why did Ji Anli use a spray instead?

It usually only lasts four hours, just a temporary suppression.

Ji Anli lowered his eyes.

“I used it last time. This time the heat is even more… severe than last time.

I’m worried that using inhibitors recklessly for such an abnormal heat might be inappropriate.

I was planning to go to the hospital for a check-up later and then you messaged to say President An was bringing a doctor over.”

Lin Jing became more worried.

He didn’t know much about Omega conditions but Ji Anli had a point.

Such an abnormal heat indeed wasn’t suitable for excessive use.

President An arrived faster than the two had imagined, probably worried about Ji Anli’s condition.

As soon as several hovercars stopped outside the villa area, Xie Lie and his partner immediately appeared on alert.

When they saw President An, they were stunned.

“President An, what’s going on?”

Not only did President An come but he also brought several high-ranking senior doctors.

Could it be that something happened to Mr. Ji?

Xie Lie and his partner’s expressions changed.

President An hurriedly waved his hand.

“It’s none of your business. It’s a private matter that requires a check-up for Student Ji. You two continue to stand guard outside.”

After giving instructions, President An hurriedly went in with a few doctors.

Lin Jing opened the door for them.

Seeing the doctors, he wasn’t sure if they were trustworthy but since President An brought them. Given how much President An valued Ji Anli, there shouldn’t be any issues.

More importantly, under President An’s watchful eye, even if there were problems, these people wouldn’t dare do anything.

The doctors carefully examined Ji Anli one by one.

After checking the data on the instruments, they exchanged glances.

The older doctor sighed, “Mr. Ji’s condition is serious if you say it’s serious but not a big deal if you say it’s not.”

President An was extremely nervous but hearing this, he was confused, “Can you explain it more simply?”

The old doctor pointed out the data to Ji Anli and the others which wasn’t much different from what the system had said earlier, “Mr. Ji’s body doesn’t have major issues. It’s just that after evolution, his healing ability is too strong and coincidentally, he’s experiencing post-adulthood heat.

The first few months after the first heat post-adulthood are usually unstable. The impact from the massive genetic changes causes aftereffects, leading to heat disorder.

Generally, this condition lasts a few months and disappears once the genes stabilize.”

President An was completely relieved, “A few months is fine, just prepare more inhibitors during this time.”

The old doctor shook his head while stroking his beard, “That’s the tricky part, you can’t use inhibitors. Mr. Ji’s situation is special, and you can’t use them casually. After all, this is a bodily impact caused by genetic changes.

Using inhibitors would only suppress it temporarily and it would be worse next time. It might also affect his healing ability in the future, possibly lowering its level.”

So, in that sense, it is serious.

Before President An could speak, the old doctor continued, “Of course, saying it’s not serious means it’s not a big deal. Mr. Ji is already registered as married so with a partner a permanent mark would suffice.”

Lin Jing was listening intently, memorizing everything, when suddenly the old doctor looked at him and said that last sentence.

Lin Jing was stunned for a moment, What… a permanent mark?

Is it the mark he knows?

Instinctively, Lin Jing glanced at Ji Anli who had his head down, revealing only a pair of bright red ears under his dark hair.

Lin Jing suddenly felt nervous and awkwardly looked away, unsure of how to speak.

Ji Anli didn’t expect the old doctor to be so straightforward, suggesting the most permanent solution, a permanent mark.

Was it really okay for two people who had only met a few times?

Fortunately, after President An snapped out of his daze and saw their situation, he cleared his throat, “Is a permanent mark the only option?”

The old doctor looked around in confusion, “Is there a problem? Aren’t they partners?”

Isn’t this something that would happen sooner or later?

President An discreetly reminded in a low voice, “They just had a successful blind date a few days ago. Although they got the certificate, they haven’t met many times.”

Plus, they haven’t even had the wedding yet, jumping straight to a permanent mark might make Ji feel embarrassed

The old doctor suddenly understood, “Oh, I see. In that case, a temporary mark will work too. Although it’s not as effective as a permanent mark, a few months shouldn’t be a problem.”

Of course, with newlyweds, they might regret it in a few days. And as their feelings deepen, they might just go for a permanent mark.

He was quite open-minded, solving special situations with special solutions.

President An breathed a sigh of relief, remembering the temporary mark she had forgotten about due to her worry.

So, everyone except Ji Anli turned to Lin Jing, throwing the question at him, “General Lin, is there any issue on your side?”

Lin Jing sat there stiffly, unable to speak for a while, his throat tight.

He clearly hadn’t expected things to progress so quickly.

But considering this was the best treatment for Ji Anli without side effects, he lowered his eyes and softly agreed.

Ji Anli who had been trying to keep his mind blank to avoid hearing Lin Jing say he needed to think about it, felt his racing heart calm down upon hearing this.

He couldn’t help but sneak a glance at Lin Jing who happened to look over at the same time.

The moment their eyes met, they both quickly sat up straight and turned their heads away.

Internally, Ji Anli was screaming but outwardly he remained as calm as an old dog.

Why were you looking around at such a critical moment?

President An saw this scene and chuckled.

She was now completely convinced that the two had truly fallen in love at first sight.

She had been puzzled when she heard they had already registered their marriage yesterday but seeing how well the couple got along now, she couldn’t help but smile.

Looking at Ji’s expression, there was no need to ask if he was willing.

His lack of objection meant he was too shy to speak up so she made the decision, “Then it’s settled. Is there anything else to note after the temporary mark?”

The old doctor said, “Once Mr. Ji goes into heat, he will be particularly dependent and affectionate towards General Lin.

At that time, General Lin needs to be patient and comforting, and it’s best to comply with Mr. Ji’s requests.”

After he finished speaking, everyone except Ji Anli looked over again.

For the first time, Lin Jing felt his face heat up, almost unable to maintain his calm expression but he forced himself to respond seriously.

The old doctor continued to advise, “After the temporary mark, Mr. Ji should remember to go to the hospital the next day to check his glands.

Your situation is different from others, so we need to see if there’s any effect or any other symptoms.

Also, I need to look at the medical records of both Mr. Ji and General Lin to see if there are any issues that might make a temporary mark unsuitable.”

Ji Anli pulled up the records from his wristband which were public information in the medical system and displayed them openly for everyone to see.

Lin Jing thought for a moment and did the same.

His records were much more extensive than Ji Anli’s but most of them were related to injury treatments

The old doctor only needed to look at the records from the past two months.

After confirming Ji Anli’s were fine, he turned to Lin Jing’s and frowned at one entry, “Wound treatment? And it’s recent? Has General Lin’s wound healed? If it hasn’t, the effect of the temporary marking will be compromised.”

Lin Jing was taken aback and looked at Ji Anli, only to find him staring at his medical records, especially the entry the old doctor pointed out as if he was in a daze.

Ji Anli was fixated on the hospital and date of the wound treatment, completely lost in thought.

The First Hospital of the Capital Star, VIP section, at that time… wasn’t it when he went for a second genetic test in his past life?

So the person who kindly helped him during his first heat back then… was Lin Jing?
