Chapter 25 : Disorder

Accidentally Choosing the Strongest Alpha in the Galaxy on a Blind Date

Ji Anli felt weak all over and took a few steps toward the sofa which nearly drained all his energy.

He collapsed onto it, completely limp.

His breath was hot and heavy.

Ji Anli’s face turned visibly flushed, his eyelashes damp and he hovered between consciousness and unconsciousness.

This was much faster and more severe than his first heat episode.

Ji Anli was in a bad state.

Recently, he’d been trying to convince Lin Jing that he really had a disorder, talking about his heat episodes and such.

Who knew that walking this path would actually make it come true?

“What is happening to me?” With only the housekeeper robot and himself at home, Ji Anli first instructed the robot to find an inhibitor.

Meanwhile, he directly asked the system which should know his situation well.

He couldn’t really be having a disorder, could he?

The system’s voice quickly responded, “The host previously had no psychic power and suddenly evolved into an SSS-level healer.

Your body’s genes have undergone such a drastic change in a short time, making it difficult to bear and control.

But once you get through this period and your body adapts to the healing power within you, it will naturally resolve.”

Ji Anli asked, “How long will it take? Isn’t there any medicine that can directly change my physical condition?”

The system shook its head, “This is something the host must go through. Otherwise, if your body doesn’t adapt, even if medication suppresses it, it will become a hidden danger in the future.”

At this moment, the robot brought over the suppressant.

Ji Anli was already so weak that he was slumped on the sofa.

Just as he was about to use it, the system’s voice echoed in his mind again, “Host, you’d better think carefully before using it. Your situation is different from a normal heat period. It’s a side effect from a major change in your body.

If you use the suppressant excessively, it will only temporarily suppress the effects. But the next time it flares up, it will be even worse.”

Ji Anli paused with his hand raised, laughing in frustration, “Didn’t I use it last time too?”

The system replied innocently, “Last time was the first heat, and it was unavoidable. But now, doesn’t the host have a partner? There’s a better way, why not choose the alternative?”

Hearing this, Ji Anli’s eyes lit up, barely managing to restrain himself, “Why didn’t you say there was another way earlier? What is it?”

Who wants to treat the symptoms without addressing the root cause, only to have it worse next time?

The system explained, “The host’s body needs a few months to adapt to this powerful healing transformation. You can choose to have your partner temporarily mark you to ease the heat that could flare up at any time or opt for a permanent mark to solve it once and for all.”

Ji Anli fell silent, picking up the suppressant again.

He should have been wary when the system mentioned his partner, knowing it couldn’t be up to any good.

Asking a partner he barely knew for a few days, married for just one day, to mark him?

Who could even say that out loud?

He didn’t have the face to ask.

He could even imagine Lin Jing’s shocked expression upon hearing this, probably thinking this marriage was some kind of conspiracy.

He might even imagine Ji Anli had been secretly in love with him, using every excuse to deceive him and now that they were married, it was all exposed, right?

By then, in Lin Jing’s eyes, combined with what happened last night, Ji Anli would look like a complete rogue with some special kinks to boot.

But the heat surging through him now made his limbs go completely limp, barely able to hold the suppressant.

If it was this severe now, what about next time…?

Ji Anli’s hand holding the suppressant and couldn’t bring himself to inject it, his breathing heavy and increasingly uncomfortable.

Finally, he closed his eyes, asking quietly with a guilty conscience, “So what do I do now? He has to come back, right?”

The system chimed in timely, “There’s a soothing suppressant spray with a four-hour delay effect, costing 2 healing points, with no side effects.”

Ji Anli was numb, “You said so much earlier, and now I owe you so many healing points. Where am I supposed to get two healing points to exchange?”

The system didn’t respond this time but a transparent task window popped up, especially highlighting the ‘Daily Tasks’ section’s [Expression of Affection] with a touch value of X2, ultimately earning 20 touch points.

Ji Anli, “…………”

Great. It’s confirmed. This system is a total skinflint, never missing a chance to fleece the host for healing points.

The cycle was complete.

He was taking advantage of Lin Jing, the system was taking advantage of him and it went on and on.

What goes around comes around.

It felt good to take advantage for a moment but paying the debt was like a trip to the crematorium.

Ji Anli lay on the sofa, his face flushed.

He took one last look at the inhibitor, gritted his teeth and opened his wristband to dial the StarCom.

This time, there was still some buffer time.

But if it got worse next time and he was outside, it would hit him instantly.

Then, it would be truly embarrassing across the entire galaxy.

Now, he was only embarrassed in front of Lin Jing.

After a while, he got used to it.

On the other side, Lin Jing had just returned to the suburban villa near Manfred.

Despite not sleeping for two consecutive nights, he was in decent spirits.

He had received orders last night to set off immediately.

Although the task wasn’t troublesome, it had worsened the wound on his back.

He couldn’t help but touch the small tube of ointment in his palm.

His hand almost warmed the outer layer.

He listened absentmindedly as Ander reported that Professor Chen had safely returned to the base.

Professor Chen was someone he had escorted overnight, along with the results.

But without a definite confirmation of a complete handover, the task wasn’t considered finished.

As Ander finally breathed a sigh of relief, he said, “It’s all clear over there. Professor Chen has safely handed over the results to the person in charge.”

Lin Jing acknowledged, “Then I’m heading back. The rest of the handover is up to you guys.”

Last night, he had intended to go downstairs to the bathroom to apply the ointment but he couldn’t calm down.

By the time he came to his senses, he had received the mission message and had to pocket the ointment and head out.

Who knew he’d only be back at this hour?

He thought of Ji Anli and couldn’t help but glance at his wristband, wondering if he was awake yet.

Ander and Manfred felt guilty.

Sending the boss on a mission on his wedding night—they were terrible.

But Professor Chen was important and neither he nor Manfred was suitable to go out.

They couldn’t trust anyone else so the boss had to escort him himself.

Just as Ander was about to urge the boss to go back, the boss’s wristband beeped.

The next moment, Ander and Manfred saw the boss stand up abruptly, leave a casual remark and stride quickly to the washroom at the end of the corridor.

Ander and Manfred exchanged glances, communicating silently with their eyes.

Manfred: I bet ten tubes of nutrient solution, it’s definitely Mr. Ji.

Ander: Look at you, only betting ten vials. I’m betting eleven, it’s definitely Mr. Ji.

In the bathroom, Lin Jing quickly closed the door and immediately started a video call.

For some reason, he felt a bit nervous during the two seconds it took to connect.

He didn’t know why he instinctively avoided others when he saw the call. Maybe it’s because the first thing that came to mind was the image of the other person pressing against him last night.

The moment the video connected, Lin Jing’s previously calm expression changed when he saw the situation on the other side.

“What happened? Why do you look so unwell?”

Unexpectedly, Ji Anli’s eyes were wet and red as he looked at him, his breath unsteady.

“I’m fine, just the heat period again, feeling really uncomfortable. But I’ve already used a spray to ease it.

Sorry, my family isn’t around. I suddenly felt a bit down and wanted to talk to you.”

He then lowered his eyes and softly said, “Besides my family, you’re the best to me. You’re really a good person and to me… very important.”

After saying this, Ji Anli didn’t even dare to look at Lin Jing’s expression and directly hung up the video, letting out a soft breath.

“Does that count as passing?”

System, “…”

What do you think?

It felt more like giving him a ‘nice guy’ card.

Ji Anli took a breath, feeling like a dried-up fish.

“Very important, how is that not a love confession… Quick, the spray…”

If you don’t act, your host is going to be in trouble.

The system seemed convinced and actually approved it.

With the spray in hand, Ji Anli immediately sprayed his face, instantly feeling clear-headed as the heat dissipated. The previous discomfort, like being devoured all over, vanished completely.

He blinked his eyes open, his sweat-dampened lashes brushing down like little brushes.

In the next moment, he sat up energetically.

“Exchange the remaining nine sprays for me too.”

‘Expression of Affection’ earned 20 touch points, enough to exchange for 10 sprays, all single-use.

As Ji Anli asked the system to exchange, he reopened his wristband.

Sure enough, Lin Jing had sent several videos and messages.

Afraid Lin Jing would worry, Ji Anli quickly sent a message back, “I’m fine. Just a heat disorder. I just used a spray. It can last for four hours.”

On the other side, Lin Jing who was already on his way back, was about to contact Xie Lie.

He paused when he received the message, hesitated but still felt uneasy.

“Do you need me to contact President An to bring a doctor over to check on you? Are you sure you’re okay with this condition? Don’t worry, I won’t reveal your hidden illness.”

Ji Anli’s condition just now was really frightening, his face so red it seemed like it would bleed if he was soaked in water.

Even though he tried to endure it, it was clear he was very uncomfortable.

Comparing this Ji Anli to last night, Lin Jing realized that this frequently occurring heat disorder was the most severe.

Ji Anli was about to refuse but considering his physical condition, even though the system provided a result, President An should know about it.

Maybe he could use this opportunity to mention the temporary marking.

This way, he didn’t have to say it out loud.

Ji Anli replied with an “okay”

While waiting, he thought about his past life.

When he was locked in the basement, he never had an episode so he didn’t think much of it.

But at that time, Ji Chenhao had injected him with a gene serum and just as his healing ability started to manifest, it was extracted.

His body never developed a stronger healing ability, so naturally there were no significant changes and he never experienced the heat disorder.

Thinking about this, Ji Anli recalled the first time he had a heat period.

The system had told him that in his past life, he had an episode the first time as well but he happened to be at the First Hospital on the Capital Star where a kind person helped him during his heat.

The person didn’t take advantage of his heat period, didn’t even leave their name and left after giving him a special suppressant.

Ji Anli had asked the system who it was but it wouldn’t say.

Thinking about it now, he felt a bit dazed.

Even though it didn’t happen in this life, if he found out who it was, he would still want to repay the kindness.
