Chapter 23 : Newlyweds

Accidentally Choosing the Strongest Alpha in the Galaxy on a Blind Date

The more Ji Anli looked, the more excited he got.

His eyes sparkled. Thinking he had completed the daily task of hugging as well.

It was as if he could already see the touch points bursting out like coins.

Ji Anli quickly changed from his slow pace, finished washing up and changed into a simple, loose long-sleeved shirt and pants.

His face was flushed as he walked out of the bathroom.

His eyes were bright and as he came out, he bumped face-to-face with Lin Jing, who had just finished washing up in the downstairs bathroom.

Lin Jing was momentarily stunned when he saw Ji Anli.

He wasn’t sure if it was an illusion, but Ji Anli’s face seemed noticeably redder than when he last saw him.

“Are you… sick?”

Ji Anli instinctively shook his head.

“Huh? Am I?”

He raised his hand to touch his face then pressed the back of his hand against it.

It was a bit warm.

He couldn’t help it. The thought of getting ‘paid’ to pet the later was too exciting for anyone to stay calm.

The more Lin Jing looked, the more he felt something was off with Ji Anli.

But to say he was seriously ill didn’t seem right either.

At this moment, Ji Anli’s eyes were shining, his face was flushed, and his lips were rosy, exuding a healthy yet slightly abnormal hue.

It was more like the symptoms described in biology class about the early stages of an Omega’s heat.

But Ji Anli shouldn’t be at that stage yet.

Still, Lin Jing was worried and asked, “Do you… feel uncomfortable anywhere? Like symptoms similar to a heat period?”

Ji Anli’s strange hidden ailment, combined with the rarity of someone so young evolving into a high-level healer for the second time, suggests that opportunities and dangers coexist.

Is there another hidden ailment that even Ji Anli hasn’t discovered?

Ji Anli finally sensed something off in Lin Jing’s words.

With a bit of thought, he understood Lin Jing’s concern.

His dark pupils shifted slightly and he almost instantly reacted, raising his hand to cover his forehead, “Hmm, now that you mention it, I do feel my face is a bit hot, and my body feels warm too.

It does seem like it, but I shouldn’t be having a fever, it’s not the time for that yet. How could this be?”

His lowered eyelashes trembled slightly, hiding the light in his eyes.

As expected of the Alpha he chose, it’s like getting a pillow when you’re sleepy.

He’s really amazing!

Such a good excuse, he hadn’t even thought of it and the other party offered it up willingly.

A perfect match isn’t just for show, look at this tacit understanding, almost inseparable.

Lin Jing helped him to the bed and had him sit down, kneeling on one knee to be almost at eye level with Ji Anli, raising his eyes to closely observe Ji Anli’s condition, “Do you want me to get you an inhibitor?”

“Hmm?” Ji Anli was momentarily stunned, swallowing back the words that were about to come out, “You… bought an inhibitor for me?”

Lin Jing nodded, “When you were packing at the hotel, I thought about it and used our legal status to buy it for you, just in case.”

Ji Anli’s situation was special and fearing he might forget, Lin Jing prepared a separate dose.

Ji Anli swallowed back the words about possibly having an early fever, looking at Lin Jing with a complicated expression.

Brother, you’re so considerate that I feel bad about making a move. But thinking about the unhealed wound that Lin Jing can’t heal right now and facing Lin Jing’s deep eyes with a body full of fluffy fur that could heal wounds, isn’t it worth it?

So Ji Anli spoke seriously, “I don’t think it’s necessary. I don’t smell any pheromones, so I shouldn’t be having a fever. It might be… the hidden ailment getting out of control.”

Lin Jing became even more worried, “This hidden ailment of yours isn’t just during the fever period, it bothers you at other times too?”

Ji Anli, “It might be due to the instability of my healing power after the second evolution. It’s fine, I’ll get better slowly. You don’t need to transform into your second form to comfort me.”

Lin Jing fell silent.

If he said that, he probably needed it but didn’t want to trouble him, right?

Thinking about Ji Anli’s care and concern for him these past few days, Lin Jing felt he couldn’t be so petty.

So, to prevent Ji Anli from stopping him, he directly transformed into a snow wolf in front of Ji Anli.

Ji Anli had thought Lin Jing wouldn’t bear to see him affected by the hidden ailment and would eventually agree. But… this was too fast, right?

He hadn’t even had the chance to say the rest of his words.

Ji Anli looked at the large fluffy creature in front of him, sitting on the bed and needing to look up to see clearly.

Because Lin Jing was so close before, now an entire snow-white, fluffy, bristling wolf head was right in front of him, even bigger than his own head.

Especially as the wolf’s eyes met his at eye level when it lay down, gentle yet untamed

Two completely opposite auras mixed together, creating a visual impact that made Ji Anli gasp.

This fierce beast was so dangerous yet so obedient.

It took him a while to come back to his senses.

He wanted to speak but couldn’t help stuttering, “You, how did you change?”

Lin Jing thought for a moment then gently placed his big paw on Ji Anli’s knee.

He was afraid of being too close but he wanted to soothe Ji Anli’s hidden ailment that was spiraling out of control.

Instinctively, Ji Anli placed his palm on the furry paw.

With the snow wolf by his side, he couldn’t bring himself to say anything insincere.

He sighed, “Sorry for making you shift to your second form on our wedding night. Don’t worry, I’ll find some medicine to heal your wounds as a thank you.”

He decided that tonight, no matter what, he would gather the healing points needed for Lin Jing’s wounds.

Can’t let General Lin’s sacrifice go to waste, right?

Lin Jing shook his head.

Although he didn’t believe there was such a miraculous medicine in the galaxy, he appreciated Ji Anli’s words meant to comfort him.

He lay there motionless, his wolf head resting on a big paw, quietly watching Ji Anli.

Ji Anli instinctively rubbed the paw under his palm and kindly reminded, “I don’t even know the specifics of my condition. What if it really goes too far? You won’t be mad, right?”

Lin Jing shook his head, not taking Ji Anli’s words about going too far to heart.

After all, he was a snow wolf.

What could Ji Anli possibly do to a wolf?

At most, he’d just be overly fond of his fluffy fur but that wasn’t a problem.

But soon, Lin Jing felt something was off.

He had underestimated the situation.

With Lin Jing’s permission, Ji Anli grew bolder, wanting to test if the partner touch task could be completed by one party interacting with the other’s second form to earn rewards.

He deliberately spoke to lower Lin Jing’s guard, “You say you won’t be mad but I don’t believe it. How about I try first?”

Lin Jing nodded calmly, ready for whatever came next.

Ji Anli had the snow wolf stand up.

As the majestic creature stood on all fours before him, Ji Anli unexpectedly wrapped his arms around it.

The snow wolf froze as Ji Anli approached.

Perhaps it was because they had such contact during pre-marital testing but he didn’t dislike Ji Anli’s touch.

However, his fur stood on end, making Ji Anli feel like he was hugging a giant plush toy, his eyes shining even brighter.

What excited Ji Anli more was the system voice that rang in his ear, “Congratulations to the host for completing the daily task—[Heartfelt Hug]. You’ve earned Touch Value x3, Level 1 Rare Partner x10, totaling 30 touch points.”

Ji Anli almost burst out laughing.

It really worked, huh?

Well then, he couldn’t be blamed for taking advantage of it.

His next target was the partner touch task [Neck-to-Neck Contact]

The previous hug was just a hug which meant it wasn’t enough. They still needed to touch necks.

Ji Anli stood up directly and hugged the snow wolf tightly.

His face and neck were pressed so closely against the wolf that most of his face was buried in its neck.

Taking advantage of the snow wolf’s surprise, he rubbed his face against its neck and wrapped his arms tightly around it.

Almost simultaneously, both their minds seemed to explode.

Ji Anli was thrilled because the system notified him that the task was complete and he received 50 touch points.

With this action, he gained a total of 80 touch points.

He really was a task master.

Lin Jing, on the other hand, wasn’t doing so well.

Even though the other person had hugged him before, it had never been this close.

He could feel the other’s breath on his neck, the warmth of their skin, and even the heartbeat through the contact.

This made Lin Jing’s mind buzz, unable to hear anything clearly as if the whole world was filled with the sound of his own intense heartbeat, drowning out Ji Anli’s, leaving him frozen and unable to move.

Ji Anli, having received the task reward, quickly let go, afraid of scaring Lin Jing away.

His face was even more flushed and he was in a great mood.

“I didn’t scare you, did I? See, I told you we should try it first, just in case it scared you. Are you not used to it?”

Lin Jing instinctively shook his head, his expression complex when he came back to his senses.

He wanted to say that this might not be good for Ji Anli, considering he was a normal Alpha.

But then he remembered they were legally married so even if something did happen, it would be within the normal range.

It’s just… he couldn’t quite explain why he felt so flustered but he didn’t want to disappoint Ji Anli.

Plus, he couldn’t speak at the moment so he tacitly agreed to Ji Anli’s next move.

After finishing all this, Ji Anli didn’t continue with the next task.

Instead, he climbed onto the bed, pulled the blanket up to his chest and patted the spot next to him.

“You’re still not used to it. In case you have a sudden attack and don’t know what to do, let’s get used to it first. You can stay in your second form and sleep like this, right?”

Lin Jing shook his head after a while.

Actually, this was more comfortable.

If he were in his first form, he couldn’t imagine being embraced by Ji Anli like that.

It was probably too stimulating for him to dare think further.

Ji Anli coaxed the snow wolf onto the bed.

Seeing it curled up at the edge, looking somewhat pitiful, he kindly moved back a bit.

“The bed is so big, come over here. Don’t fall off. You don’t have any aversion to me, do you?”

What could Lin Jing do?

His wolf eyes just quietly watched Ji Anli, then obediently moved over.

It was probably the first time he was sleeping in this form and it felt a bit uncomfortable.

In the end, he just lay there with his chin on the pillow.

Just as he was thinking about changing back, Ji Anli scooted over, mimicking him by lying there, one arm propping up his face, the other draped over his back.

Suddenly, his head came closer, as if to whisper, and whether by accident or not, his ear brushed against Lin Jing’s pointed ear

Lin Jing almost instinctively shifted to the side, his furry ears twitching sensitively.

It was only after he did this that he realized it might not be appropriate.

Turning back, he met Ji Anli’s hurt gaze, “Am I causing you trouble?”

Lin Jing shook his head and obediently lay back down.

Ji Anli reached out to his paw again, deliberately putting on a full act, “I’m just talking to you. What could I possibly do to you?”

Lin Jing could only honestly curl his paw on the pillow, his big head resting on it, looking every bit like a bullied little wife.

Ji Anli quickly completed the [ear-to-ear intimacy] task. And after gaining 60 touch points, he decided to also complete the [hand-to-hand contact] task.

But just as he bravely held Lin Jing’s furry wolf paw, Lin Jing couldn’t hold back any longer and transformed back into his human form.

With a complicated expression, he advised, “Maybe you should… calm down a bit?”

Habits don’t have to change overnight.

He felt a bit overwhelmed. Everything tonight was a bit too stimulating for him.
