Chapter 1 : Breaking off the engagement

Accidentally Choosing the Strongest Alpha in the Galaxy on a Blind Date

“Have you heard? The Wen family unilaterally broke off the engagement with the Ji family!”

“Really? Wasn’t Ji Anli and the eldest son of the Wen family engaged since childhood? Can they just call it off? Is it because of his parents’ accident?”

“That’s not all. A few days ago, someone leaked Ji Anli’s genetic report on the school network!”

“Ah, was there something wrong with it?”

“His report showed abnormalities, he won’t be able to conceive in the future!”

“Damn, no wonder…”

The May sunlight was already a bit glaring, casting large patches of light and shadow at the back of the lecture hall.

Ji Anli listened calmly to the whispers behind him, his eyes downcast.

The light fell on his profile, his skin fair and translucent, his appearance delicate and fragile under the sunlight, evoking a protective instinct in anyone who looked at him.

If he had heard these words three days ago, he would have cared.

But after recalling memories of his past life, these words no longer stirred any emotions in him.

“Hey, look, isn’t that the eldest son of the Wen family waiting outside? He looks so good with Ji Anli, what a shame…”

“Aren’t they broken off? Why is he still here to pick him up after class?”

As Ji Anli walked out of the classroom and passed by them, those voices abruptly stopped.

He walked straight towards the end of the corridor, not glancing at the man waiting for him by the flower bed below.

Wen Zhen saw him and knew he had heard the rumors.

He quickly stepped forward, his long legs catching up in two or three strides, grabbing Ji Anli’s slender white wrist.

With a handsome face full of helplessness, he habitually coaxed, “Anli, why did you leave without waiting for me? Are you really mad?”

Ji Anli’s eyebrows slightly arched, his gaze swept over the hand gripping his wrist.

Because of the force, the veins on the back of Wen Zhen’s hand bulged, and his tanned skin made Ji Anli’s hand look even more like white jade.

The skin where they touched was already turning red, “Let go.”

The cold words echoed between them, silencing the explanation Wen Zhen was about to give.

He was stunned for several seconds before murmuring, “What?”

He had probably never seen Ji Anli so cold, nor looked at him as if he were filthy trash.

Wen Zhen instinctively withdrew his hand.

His good upbringing prevented him from clinging on when the other had clearly refused, but his brows furrowed,

“Anli, are you upset because I haven’t contacted you these past few days? I know you’ve heard the rumors about breaking off the engagement, but they’re all false. My parents do have that intention, but you know how I feel about you. I would never agree to it. Even if there’s a chance of an issue with heirs, even if it’s a certainty, I would still…”

“If you had to choose between breaking off the engagement and losing your position as heir, which would you choose?”

Ji Anli, uninterested in his explanation, calmly asked the most crucial question.

Wen Zhen was at a loss for words, “Anli, I…”

He wanted to say he would choose him, but without the position of heir, how would he support him, how would he stand in the Wen family?

Ji Anli wasn’t angry, just looked at him indifferently, “You already have the answer in your heart, don’t you? Oh, by the way, congratulations on finding another fiancé. I wish you… a lifetime of happiness, stick forever together!”

Wen Zhen was completely dumbfounded by these words, and not just him, the classmates eavesdropping were also shocked.

What? He already has another fiancé right after breaking off the engagement?

Even though Alpha is rare and such good genes shouldn’t be wasted, settling on another so quickly is just too much, isn’t it?

Wen Zhen’s brows furrowed tightly, “Anli, I know you’re angry, but there’s no need to make things up about me. When did I ever have another fiancé?”

Ji Anli saw him getting angry and felt quite pleased.

“Didn’t you know? While you were looking for me, your parents already went to the Ji family to propose… By now, it’s probably almost settled.”

Then, he dropped another bombshell, “Why let good resources go to waste? I heard they chose my dear cousin. Your Wen family really isn’t picky, huh? Go back and breed, have a child, and stop bothering me. We’re officially breaking off the engagement, and we have nothing to do with each other anymore.”

The news Ji Anli revealed was so explosive that it shocked everyone, leaving the onlookers stunned.

Was it really this intense?

Wen Zhen’s mind was buzzing.

He lowered his head to check his wristband and questioned his parents.

By the time he got a definite answer and looked up again, Ji Anli was nowhere to be seen.

Ji Anli got into a hover car and headed back to his one-bedroom apartment, the only property under his name, bought with the first prize money from a competition he participated in during his sophomore year of high school.

He was grateful he had bought this small apartment back then, otherwise, he wouldn’t even have a place to stay now.

In his past life, Ji Anli had met Wen Zhen on this very day.

Even though he didn’t care anymore, seeing the pair of scumbags who had caused his death still filled him with rage.

By the time the hover car traveled from Zone A to Zone C and finally stopped, two hours had passed, and the sky was completely dark.

The neighborhood he lived in required passing through an alley.

He had gotten used to passing through here these past few days, but tonight, standing at the alley entrance, he noticed the streetlights on both sides had gone completely dark, and a sense of foreboding rose in his heart.

Ji Chenhao had already gotten what he wanted, flying off with Wen Zhen in this lifetime, and Ji Anli had been kicked out of the Ji family with nothing.

What more could they want from him?

As soon as this thought arose, Ji Anli’s sixth sense urged him to quickly turn around and leave, but it was already too late.

He saw two blond thugs leaning against the wall not far ahead, waiting.

His heart sank.

Especially the one with a scar across his face, it was too familiar.

He was the bodyguard who would later follow Ji Chenhao around

Being Ji Chenhao’s bodyguard requires at least an A-level psychic power.

As a physically weak Omega with no psychic power, Ji Anli was lucky if he could escape from just one of them.

“Don’t go, such a beautiful Omega. Stay and play with us. If you behave, maybe we’ll spare your life and won’t mess up your face.”

Two young men with a roguish air emerged from the darkness behind him, their eyes filled with amazement as they looked at Ji Anli.

This deal was really worth it, getting money and having a noble young master to play with.

“How much is Ji Chenhao paying you? I’ll give you double.”

Ji Anli got straight to the point.

He naturally had no money, but there was no chance of winning against their strength, so he could only stall for time to find a chance to escape.

“Double? You’ve been kicked out of the Ji family, you’re not even one of them anymore, and you think you can offer double with no money? What are you thinking?”

The other party exposed his lack of money, confirming that it was indeed Ji Chenhao who hired them.

“Did Ji Chenhao tell you that? He’s jealous of me, and you believe what he says? My parents are the heads of the Ji family, and they haven’t disappeared but are conducting a secret research project. When they return and find out you bullied and killed me, do you think they’ll let you off? Ji Chenhao can deny everything and get away with it, or pay his way out, but can you?”

Whether it was Ji Anli’s words or his calm demeanor that intimidated the four men, they exchanged glances and hesitated to move forward.

What Ji Anli said was true, but at the same time, these words could only temporarily deceive the four.

As soon as they asked Ji Chenhao, and he showed them that fake bloodline mismatch notice, he wouldn’t be able to escape.

The notice was fake, but Ji Anli’s uncle and Ji Chenhao had made it so convincingly that it was enough to make these four believe.

A month ago, news of Ji Anli’s parents’ accident and disappearance came, causing him to fall seriously ill from the shock.

When he woke up from his sickbed, he was faced not only with the uncertainty of his parents’ fate but also with a genetic anomaly report and a bloodline mismatch notice.

The genetic anomaly report stated that he had a major genetic problem, and as an Omega, he would be unable to bear children in the future, possibly even experiencing pheromone disorders that could severely affect his future partner’s mental state.

The notice claimed a bloodline mismatch between Ji Anli and his parents, implying that Ji Anli was not a child of the Ji family.

Ji Anli naturally didn’t believe it.

He had undergone several genetic tests as a child.

If this were true, how could it only be revealed now?

It was likely that his uncle wanted to seize the position of family head after his parents’ accident and used this method to drive him, the heir, out

Since he wasn’t a member of the Ji family, Ji Anli naturally couldn’t become the head of the family.

This wasn’t something that could be accomplished overnight.

It seemed that the other party had been preparing for this since his parents were around.

They even managed to bribe many people in the clan without his parents knowing, supporting his uncle to drive him, the only son of the former head, out of the Ji family.

At the same time, they froze the accounts associated with the Ji family’s assets under his name.

The four gang leaders immediately contacted their employer, “You tricked us? He said his parents just disappeared, not that anything happened to them. If something happens to him, what about us?”

Employer, “You believe whatever he says? Just take care of him and scar his face. Leave him alive and hand him over to us. If he dies in our hands, it has nothing to do with you, and you’ll still get your money.”

The leader’s eyes lit up at this, and he looked up.

But just at this moment of relaxation, someone from the opposite side approached without them noticing and suddenly sprayed something at them.

The four of them felt a sharp pain in their eyes, unable to see clearly, bending over in agony and rubbing their eyes while crying out in pain.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, Ji Anli ran desperately towards the alley.

It wasn’t safe to run back. Who knew if someone had been following him all along?

It was so dark ahead, if there were any backup, they would have surrounded him by now.

He could only take a gamble.

Once he got through this alley, there were many paths ahead where he could easily find a place to hide.

If he was really unlucky and got caught, he still had one last way out.

But unless it was absolutely necessary, he didn’t want to seek help from that person.

Urgent footsteps sounded behind him, and Ji Anli’s chest heaved violently.

The intense physical exertion was a challenge for him, a naturally weak Omega with no psychic strength.

He struggled to control his heart, which felt like it was about to burst out of his chest, and finally hid in a pile of junk in an alley.

Ji Anli lowered his breathing to the minimum.

He had expected Ji Chenhao to be ruthless, but he didn’t think he would not only take Wen Zhen away but also try to completely destroy him, leaving no trace behind.

Thinking about what Ji Chenhao did to him in his past life, it wasn’t hard to understand.

The other party hated him to the core

In the darkness, every sound seemed to amplify.

Ji Anli listened as the chaotic noises gradually approached, each footstep echoing as if it were stomping on his heart.

Is there really no way to avoid this?

Do I really have to take the last resort?

Just as Ji Anli, peering through the gaps in the pile of junk, saw the four people stop ten steps away, his mind was stretched to the limit.

Suddenly, everything went black before his eyes, and he used all his strength to suppress the sound that almost escaped his lips.

It felt as if his entire skeleton was being reshaped at that moment.

When he opened his eyes again, he was incredulous to see a familiar power swirling in his palm.

At the same time, perhaps due to some noise from his side, the four thugs, already quite close, began to step towards him.
